Wildflower + Pearl's Bretangne Cocktail

Ah, the days of my youth... the stress of college, living on my own and most importantly work. Being a twenty-something living in my hometown of New Orleans, service industry jobs were the norm. So many of my colleagues heavily relied on working in the service industry to make ends meet. As a bartender, my job was often very stressful: maintaining a balanced till, ensuring that the customers are getting the right amount of alcohol, quality control, cutting people off, managing multiple orders at once all while maintaining a smile on my face (for the most part).

One of the perks of such a job is gaining a genuine appreciation of craft cocktails. I would often indulge in after-work cocktails at many high end bars in the New Orleans area (HELLO, BOMBAY CLUB). One of my favorite things about the cocktail culture in New Orleans is that the taste varies by season. Ponchatoula strawberries are a huge springtime staple in Southeast Louisiana. We love our strawberries! Strawberries are incorporated into cocktails in a variety of ways. Here is my take on this fresh and bountiful springtime accessory fruit.
